See below for mostly Ang's movie reviews.  It's not thumbs up, it's happy eyebrows.

Hobbies

I've heard that people don't put much faith in our reviews because they are all too 'Minnesota nice'. I must agree that we are happy to be entertained by loud explosions, romantic love stories, hilarious comedies and practically everything in between EXCEPT the following list of worst movies ever by Angela.

Do not waste valuable (or otherwise) time or money on these disasters.

The Village (not necessarily the worst movie ever, just not one I'd recommend - very deceiving)

Pi (one of the only movies that I turned off 15 minutes into it - and I'm a math geek)

Envy (you're probably saying "I don't remember hearing about this movie", think VAPOORIZE and then be happy that you forgot about it)

I-Robot (ladies, if I had left after the first 7 minutes, this movie would be under the best category)

Paycheck (I think Ben did this one to afford that big diamond for J Lo. Neither one worked out real well for him.)

You Got Served (if you like dancing, watch this one with the volume off)

Dude where's my car? (which we nicknamed "Dude I want my money back")

Mulholland Drive (if you don't believe me, ask Dani)

Unfaithful (unless you turn the movie off approximately 47 minutes into it)

Holy Smoke (never ever believe reviews about independent films, THEY LIE)

Monster's Ball (the Academy had to award Halle Berry for her performance in this one to trick people into seeing it)

Revenge of the Nerds 2 (this is Mike's worst pick, I knew better than to see it)

Check back for more that are sure to come - they may be few and far between, but well worth the investment to find out before you go.

New favorite movies

Miracle - Not only was this a well done movie about the US hockey team defeating the Russians in the Olympics, it was also the only movie in which I have witnessed grown men crying. I didn't really know who Herb Brooks was before this movie, but everyone agrees that Kurt Russell is the spitting image of him. It's too bad that included his wardrobe. I think it was cool that they used hockey players they taught to act (a former AHA alumni none the less!) instead of choosing big name actors to draw a crowd.

Shrek 2 - What an entertaining movie for young and old. I think the producers/directors realized their target audience after Shrek and catered to the adult humor. I especially liked all of the cameos by Disney characters; my favorite was when Fiona threw the Little Mermaid into the ocean and she was eaten by sharks. Favorite moment: when all of the people ran out of "Farbucks", across the street into another "Farbucks". Very clever!

Pirates of the Caribbean- Johnny Depp was (unexpectedly) absolutely brilliant in this movie. I can't even imagine the combined time spent on the computer for "the fight scene" at the end of the movie, but was very impressed. I guess it always helps to have Disney to fall back on when making a movie.

Minority Report- I was very skeptical about this futuristic Tom Cruise flick, but was blown away! Aside from the surgery scene, this is one of the best and most clever movies that I have ever seen. Airheads need not waste their time, you need to be quick to follow this plot. Yes, there actually is a plot!

Old School- Thank you Mike for having a birthday and getting to choose the movie! I almost had to be dragged into this movie and then couldn't be dragged away from it. "Blue, you're my boy!" and "I think what my friend here is trying to say is that love is blind...." are two new phrases in my vocabulary after spending some time with this DVD. I highly recommend you do the same.

Previous Reviews
Anyone who knows us is aware of how many movies we see.  So as a free service to our fans we are providing some movie reviews below.  Note: If you have not seen these movies you might not want to read the full review as occasionally I give away the ending.  Sorry.

For those of you not familiar with my rating system:
^^ (two happy eyebrows)=a must see
^ (one happy eyebrow)=only see if no other great options
-- (shaved eyebrows)=stay at home and hit yourself w/ a hammer

Classics (You can't go wrong w/ these)
Bad Boys- ^^ Almost a classic.  Staring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. You have to not be afraid of the "F-en-heimer" to enjoy this movie about two Miami cops who try to crack the internal theft of drugs.  If you are looking for a good laugh with some faced paced action look no further.

Armageddon- ^^ This is one of my all time favorites.  One comment though, don't ever start a Space Shuttle by banging on the engine panel with a large wrench.  Fantastic music can be found in the movie and soundtrack.  This movie contains one of the best scenes ever. Be sure to check out the President's speech to the world.  The music, scenes, expressions and how it's all put together is fantastic.  This movie should not be watched on a tv smaller than 20" or without 500 watts to rattle the windows.

Caddyshack-^^ An all-star cast of Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, and others.  Whether you like golf or not, more great lines have come out of this movie than any other.  "Spalding No!"

Grease - ^^  I'm not sure that you can find anything more entertaining in life than watching John Travolta in skin tight leather shucking and jiving to 'Hand Jive'.  Am I right?  Not to mention that Dani and I have all of the dances memorized and can do them on command - have you seen that Friends when Monica and Ross are on the New Year's Eve dance party?  Insert two Gryskie's here.

Tommy Boy - ^^ What other movie had so many great one liners?  If you've never seen this movie before - don't watch it with me.  You'll be so annoyed by the fact that I could turn down the sound and you'd still catch every line in the movie.  Let's all share a moment of silence for the one and only, Chris Farley.  Who else could sing 'Fat man in a little coat' and be made famous for the line 'That's gonna leave a mark'?  There's too many to type - go watch the movie!

Titanic - ^^ I'm sorry, but I had to include this one.  What a great movie - it's pretty close to my favorite ever.  Not only because you find yourself hoping that the ship won't sink THIS time, but because the costumes and cinematography are outstanding!  Granted, this was one of the first movies to really use computer graphics without blowing something up every ten minutes, but it only makes the movie that much better.

Grosse Point Blank - ^^ I know some of you are saying to yourself 'what is she thinking?  I've never even heard of this movie!', but answer me these few questions before coming to a rash judgement.  Do you like movies that are entertaining from start to finish?  Movies that are a little 'off the beaten path'?  Movies that are a little on the 'dark humor' side?  Movies that find a way to bring together a professional killer and his long lost love in a romantic way?  Well, this movie's for you!

Spy Game - ^^ Is Robert Redford really old enough to be my Father?  He's looking good.  Unfortunately, he has to be on the screen next to Brad Pitt and that doesn't help his cause very much.  However, there's something for everyone in this flick.  Do you like government-type suspense, action, drama, romance, comedy movies?  Then you'll love this one.  I highly recommend it.

Ocean's Eleven - ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Hello!  This movie has a pretty good plot with some interesting twists and turns - I'm told.  I wasn't really paying attention because Brad Pitt and George Clooney were all that I could handle.  Well, I guess I was ok with Joshua Jackson as well.=)  This movie has it all.  I definitely plan on including it in my personal collection.
